How to Use the Billing and Financial Permissions Form

 

New students must complete the Billing and Financial Permissions Form. Follow these steps:

  1. Click on the following link: Billing and Financial Permissions Form (the link will open in a new tab). You should now see the following page (screenshot below).

    If instead you receive an error about not having permissions to this form, this most likely means that you have multiple Office 365 accounts and are currently logged in with a non-Houghton account. To verify this, please try accessing the link with a different browser, or you can go to https://www.office.com and in the upper-right corner you should see your initials or a profile picture, click on this button to expand the "My Accounts" window and if the email address shown is not your Houghton College email address, then click "Sign Out". Now you should be able to click on the link to the Billing and Financial Permissions form and it should prompt you to sign in with your Houghton credentials. 

  2. Your Microsoft account and your Houghton College student account are the same. Type your Houghton email address into the box, and then click on "Next." (Your Houghton email address will follow the pattern "firstname.lastname##@houghton.edu," where "##" is replaced with the last two digits of the year you will graduate from Houghton. So, a student named "John Doe" who will graduate in 2022 would have the Houghton email address "john.doe22@houghton.edu.") You should now see a page like this: 

  3. Enter the password for your Houghton student account and click on "Sign in." If you cannot remember the password for your Houghton student account, follow the steps to reset your password under "I'm Having Problems" below.

  4. You should now see the the Billing and Financial Permissions Form. It looks like this (if you do not see the form, follow the steps under "I'm Having Problems" below): 

  5. Fill out all the fields in the form. You will need your student ID number. If you don't know your student ID number, you can find it by clicking on this link (the link will open in a new tab): Find My Student ID. When you have completed the Billing and Financial Permissions Form, click on the "Submit" button at the bottom of the form. You may now close the form window.

 

 

I'm Having Problems

 

If you have not been able to complete the Billing and Financial Permissions Form, follow these steps:

  1. Sometimes the form does not work on phones and tablets. If you are using a phone or tablet and the form is not working, try repeating the above steps on a desktop or laptop computer.

  2. If you receive an error about not having permissions to this form, this most likely means that you have multiple Office 365 accounts and are currently logged in with a non-Houghton account. To verify this, please try accessing the link with a different browser, or you can go to https://www.office.com and in the upper-right corner you should see your initials or a profile picture, click on this button to expand the "My Accounts" window and if the email address shown is not your Houghton College email address, then click "Sign Out". Now you should be able to click on the link to the Billing and Financial Permissions form and it should prompt you to sign in with your Houghton credentials. 
  3. If you are using a desktop or laptop computer and still have problems with the form, you may have entered the wrong password for your Houghton student account. (Remember that your Microsoft account and your Houghton student account are the same.) Follow these steps to reset your password:

    1. Click on this link to reset your password: Reset Student Password (the link will open in a new tab). You should see the following page: 

    2. Follow the instructions on the password reset page. Once you have reset your password, wait 1 hour and then try the steps under "How to Use the Billing and Financial Permissions Form" again. 

  4. If you are still having problems after resetting your password, try the steps under "How to Use the Billing and Financial Permissions Form" again. When you first have a problem, take a screenshot of the page and save it to your computer. Then, send an email to Helpdesk@houghton.edu with a detailed description of the steps you've taken so far and the problems you've been having, and include your screenshot as an attachment. The Helpdesk staff will help you fix the problem.
