Blizzard P2P Patch Downloader

If you are experiencing problems while attempting to use the Blizzard (World of Warcraft, StarCraft, Diablo ) P2P Patch Downloader please read this article.

The Blizzard Downloader uses a peer-to-peer system to download the patches which, given the patches' large size, makes perfect sense and is completely legal. Unfortunately, due to recent Federal regulations, the College is now required to prevent the illegal sharing of media through the use of peer-to-peer programs (e.g. torrents). Therefore, in order to be in Federal compliance, we have blocked all peer-to-peer programs on the Houghton College network.

There is supposed to be a checkbox that you can uncheck prior to beginning the download that is labeled "Use Peer-to-Peer Downloading" which should allow you to use the Blizzard Downloader but not the peer-to-peer aspect of it. This would seem to be the best solution. More information can be found at these links:
